Robot Safety Engineer (Guardian & Functional Safety)

Key responsibilities

• Own the functional safety architecture, hazard analysis and risk assessment.
• Specify and verify the Guardian action filter and independent red-line limits.
• Drive compliance with machinery and robot safety standards.
• Own the audit trail: what the robot did, why, and what stopped it.

Requirements

Functional safety engineering; ISO 12100, ISO 10218 or ISO 13849 / IEC 61508 practice; hazard analysis; safety-critical software and independent protective layers.

The UK humanoid lab and assembly line: MOTHER EXO robotics design, build and test, coming online Q1 2027 and targeting 1,000 robots a year on a sovereign supply chain.

The Manchester factory comes online Q1 2027. Roles are recruited ahead of that date, with start dates agreed individually.
